Rising Stars

Ten most promising new comer in Boolywood

The year gone by has given Bollywood some of the best talent we have seen in recent times. Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Alia Bhatt, Yami Gautam and Ayushmann Khurana were some fresh faces that made an impact at the box office last year. With news of 2013 being a bigger year for the film industry, we are hoping to see some new actors this year. Here are 10 Bollywood debutants to watch out for.

Poonam Pandey: Poonam Pandey was desperately waiting for a big break in Bollywood. Her prayers have been answered and now the former Kingfisher model  is in a lead role in Amit Saxena’s film Nasha.

Taapsee Pannu: Another south import, Taapsee Pannu will be seen making a debut in the remake of Sai Paranjpe’s cult film Chashme Baddoor this year. Taapsee has worked in several TVCs and also been the Femina Miss India Fresh Face in 2008.

Ram Charan Teja: He is being touted as the next big thing, as the south actor will be playing Amitabh Bachchan’s cult role of Vijay in the remake of Zanjeer (1978). Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja is debuting this year and will be romancing Priyanka Chopra in the film.

Vinay Virmani: We saw him in the dubbed version of Speedy Singhs in the 2011 film Breakaway along with Anupam Kher. This year, Canadian actor Vinay Virmani will be debuting with Bollywood director Bejoy Nambiar’s next David. The cute actor will be playing one of the three lead roles in the film.

Sushant Rajput: He is best known as Manav in the popular TV serial Pavitra Rishta. Sushant Rajput is now ready with his big Bollywood debut Kai Po Che based on Chetan Bhagat’s book 3 Mistakes of My Life. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, this one is definitely worth watching out for.

Vaani Kapoor: She is a Yash Raj find and is debuting in Maneesh Sharma’s next untitled film opposite Sushant Rajput.

Sasha Agha: Yesteryear actress Salma Agha’s daughter Sasha will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in Aurangzeb this year. The unconventional beauty is only 19 years old!

Tiger Shroff: Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger is readying himself to debut in Bollywood this
year. The newcomer will be seen in Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Heropanti; the title does give you a déjà vu as dad Jackie is still remembered for his cult film Hero. Like father, like son!

Tamannaah Bhatia: After a successful stint in the Telugu and Tamil film industry, south actress Tamannaah Bhatia will try her hand in Bollywood. The pretty actress is debuting in Sajid Khan’s much publicised film Himmatwala opposite Ajay Devgn.

Leander Paes: Yes, you heard it right! Tennis star Leander Paes is making his Bollywood debut with Rajdhani Express this year. A socio-political film, Paes wants to test his skills as an actor and plans to do more movies in future.
